Glacier Bay Lodge offers daily boat excursions and tours of Glacier Bay that depart directly from the property. The lodge provides ranger-led educational programs and cultural exhibits available on-site through the National Park visitor center located upstairs. Guests can use the efficient shuttle service to and from Gustavus airport and the ferry terminal, plus a concierge desk for arranging flightseeing aboard a seaplane.

Rooms & Accommodations

Each rustic room at Glacier Bay Lodge Alaska features an en suite bathroom and tea and coffee-making facilities. Decorated in warm tones, the rooms have high wood-beamed ceilings and large windows that frame the surrounding Tongass rainforest. No televisions or in-room Wi-Fi are provided; wireless internet is available only in the lodge lobby, encouraging guests to disconnect and enjoy the setting.

Situated on the shores of Bartlett Cove, this Glacier Bay Lodge Gustavus property is the only hotel inside Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve. Panoramic views of the Fairweather Mountain range are visible from the lodge, and guests can walk directly to the Hoonah tribal house and to hiking trails that start at the door. Beardslee Islands are accessible by kayak, with rentals available on-site, and the lodge is 9 miles from the town of Gustavus.

Dining & Culinary

The on-site Fairweather Dining Room offers all-day dining with views over Bartlett Cove, serving fresh Alaskan salmon and grilled rib-eye steak. An extensive cocktail list is available at the bar, and the breakfast buffet is priced at $22 per person. Guests can also rely on the efficient shuttle service to reach the two other restaurants in Gustavus if they wish to dine off-property.

Activities & Recreation

Fishing, hiking, whale watching, and kayaking are available nearby, and the lodge provides guided kayaking and outdoor recreational activities. Full-day Alaska boat tours with wildlife sightings are offered daily, and the property also arranges flightseeing aboard a seaplane. Bicycle rental is available, and the surrounding forest trails are well maintained and lead to Bartlett Cove and the coastline.
